If you have a child between the ages of 8 and 12, our dentist and team may recommend Occlus-o-Guide®. This is an oral appliance we provide to promote healthy development early on by preventing or treating orthodontic problems such as:

- Improper jaw development
- Bruxism (teeth grinding)
- Overjet (where your child’s upper teeth reach over the bottom row of teeth.)
Since Occlus-o-Guide is an oral appliance, your child will wear this over their teeth at nighttime and a few hours within the day. It can also act as a mouth guard if your child participates in physical activities to lower the risk of injury. By investing in this oral appliance early on, you also lessen the need for future orthodontic treatment.
With a consultation at our office, Dr. Tommy Murph may perform an oral exam to evaluate the current state of your child’s teeth to make sure your child’s appliance is comfortable and secure. The length of this treatment ranges between four and ten months to help your child enjoy straighter-looking teeth.
